Auckland Girl Hiking Club - 7th September (11.30am)

Join us for our Auckland Girl Hiking Club event as we explore the stunning Wairoa Dam Lookout Loop in the Hunua Ranges. This 7.6km loop takes you through peaceful native forest, past tranquil streams, and offers sweeping views over the Wairoa Reservoir.

We’ll be starting at the Wairoa Dam Carpark and making our way around the loop track, which includes a steady incline and some uneven terrain. Expect a mix of shaded bush trails, exposed ridgelines, and lush scenery. This hike is a great way to move your body, reconnect with nature, and meet other outdoorsy girls within our community.

When: Sunday 7th September. In the event of rain, this event will be postponed to the following Sunday 14th September. Please ensure you are available to attend both dates.
Time: 11.30am 
Where: Wairoa Dam Carpark, Hunua Ranges. Meeting spot will be shared in the group chat.
Parking: There is a car park with plenty of free parking available.

After purchasing a ticket please message Damaris to confirm your attendance via Facebook here and she will add you to the group chat. Please make sure you do this as Damaris will provide the meeting spot in the group chat and will send out any important information such as changes to the event or cancellations due to rain. If you would like to car pool to the event, you can arrange this with the other girls in the chat. 

About the Event: This 7.6km loop takes approx. 2 hours 40 minutes to complete and features a good incline throughout. The trail is popular for a reason, it’s scenic, peaceful, and full of native birdlife. There are some steeper sections, fallen trees, and exposed areas, but it’s well worth the effort for the views over the Wairoa Dam and the surrounding forest.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, trail runners or hiking boots are recommended. Bring a full water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather on the day. Your ticket secures your spot at the event.

Refund Policy: All tickets are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to attend, you may resell your ticket via our private Auckland Girl Facebook Group. Please note Auckland Girl does not manage or oversee any ticket resales.

Age Requirement: This event is for women aged 20 and over. ID may be requested if under 25.
